So many people are hurt in society today. Many get up and walk on, but often the pain, the insecurity, the humiliation is still there–just buried. God can redeem your past and make you brand new. In writing Looking for Justice I wanted to show God’s redemption in the midst of a love story–and a little suspense. It’s set in the Smoky Mountains in the fall because the season is beautiful and romantic.
After Luke Stephens returns from war and goes through a shattering divorce, he is not looking to get entangled with another pretty woman. He outlines the type of woman he wants to God. So, when Alexis Jergenson steps into his life, he knows she’s not the one.
On her part, Alexis is not going to let Luke or any other man into her life. She’s been scarred enough.
But God has other plans. While both Luke and Alexis try to rebuild their lives by taking on professorships at a Christian college, they become embroiled in a student’s sexual abuse case. Neither can walk away from the girl, and, because of that, both find themselves in danger. Even as they try to save the student’s life, God is moving. Will they be able to see each other the way God does? And find the love he’s offering?
In the book, Luke tells Alexis to trust him. God tells us the same thing. I hope that Looking for Justice leaves you feeling loved and warm–with your trust in God just a little buoyed.

Edgy, gutsy, real. Linda Rodante’s characters grapple with hard issues and painful memories, but a poignant message of hope shines through in every scene. The suspense, romance, and spirituality kept me turning the pages…~ Varina Denman, author of the Mended Hearts
